How to Merge PDF Files for Free on Windows, Mac, Android and iPhone
Combining several PDFs into one file is one of the most common document tasks: invoices for an expense claim, certificates for a job application, or chapters of a report. You don’t need Adobe Acrobat or any paid software. This guide shows how to merge PDF files for free on Windows, Mac, Android and iPhone, in the order you want.
The quickest way: merge PDFs in your browser
- Open ImagesLite Merge PDF in any browser.

- Optional: type a page range under a file, such as 1-3,5, to include only those pages.

Merging PDFs on a phone (Android and iPhone)

How to merge only certain pages
Often you only need part of a document, such as the first page of a certificate or two pages of a bank statement. Under each file card there’s a Pages box:
- 2: only page 2
- 1-3: pages 1 to 3
- 1,4,6-8: pages 1, 4, and 6 to 8
- 5-: page 5 to the end
Leave the box empty to include every page. To pull pages out of a single PDF without merging, use Split PDF.

My merged PDF is too big to upload

Common problems and fixes
“Password protected” error
PDFs that need a password to open can’t be merged until they are unlocked. Open the file with its password in your PDF viewer and save or print a copy without the password, then merge the copy.
Pages are in the wrong order
Drag the cards before merging, or use the arrow buttons on each card. The number badge on each card shows its position in the final file.
Can I merge 20 or 50 files at once?
Yes. There is no fixed limit. Very large batches depend on your device’s memory, so a laptop handles hundreds of pages more comfortably than an older phone.
