How to compress an image

Works in any modern browser on Windows, Mac, Android and iPhone.

Add images

Drop your photos, pick them from your device, or paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V.

Choose settings

Lower the quality slider for smaller files. Resizing by percentage reduces the size even more.

Download

Save each image, or download everything at once as a ZIP file.

Reduce image size in KB

Many exam, job and government portals only accept photos under 50 KB, 100 KB or 200 KB. Lower the quality to around 60% and, if needed, resize to 50% to hit those limits while keeping the photo clear.

Tips for the smallest files

Use JPG or WEBP for photos. PNG is lossless, so it cannot be compressed as much; convert it to JPG or WEBP for a much bigger saving.

Frequently asked questions

How do I compress an image to 100 KB?

Set quality to about 60%. If the file is still bigger than 100 KB, choose Resize by percentage and try 70% or 50%.

Does compression reduce quality?

At 70-80% quality the difference is almost invisible, while the file becomes several times smaller.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Every image is processed inside your own browser, so your photos never leave your device. That also makes the tool very fast.

Is there a limit on how many images I can convert?

No. Add as many images as you like and download them one by one or all together as a ZIP file.

Can I convert iPhone HEIC photos?

Yes. HEIC and HEIF photos from iPhone are supported and can be saved as JPG, PNG or WEBP.
